Alcoholism: I don't know your mother's history. A person can develop an addiction to alcohol (called alcoholism or alcohol dependence). They can have different types of addictions like: drug, food or sex. Many people have more than one addiction. It would be beneficial to your mother to see her physician for a comprehensive assessment & to address her alcohol/ addiction issues. Alcoholics anonymous is a ++++.
