Tendonitis Quick Fix: Usually step #3 or 4 is corticosteroid injection into the tendon sheath. If its urgent or really painful you may want to go directly to a steroid shot (but not for achilles tendonitis where rupture is always of concern). If injected, then protection is even more important such as splinting, if possible - can't do that easily for a shoulder. Follow-up in 10-14 days. An imaging study may be needed.
