A member asked:

Is it ok to donate your only kidney to save somebody's life?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Donation of kdiney: In answer to your question, it is technically possible for you to donate your one kidney fro to a transplant patient. I do not think that any surgeon will perform the removal of your one kidney as that will make you be placed on some type of dialysis for the rest of your life. It is very noble for you to consider doing this and it is important that you understand why you may not be able to do so.
