Not always : But it should be evaluated. Depending on it size and appearance, your doc may be more or less inclined to get a biopsy. I'm assuming he/she will if it is a "mass" and not a "tiny nodule" but not much more can be said with the info provided. Make sure you see your family doc and he/she will decide on the next step. If you smoke, this is the time to quit.
