A member asked:

What can be done about an abscess?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends on site: Drainage of an abscess is (if possible) a good form of initial treatment. If it is not practical to drain it, it must be treated with antibiotics and then the source of the infection must be determined and removed or treated more definitively.
