Body parts: After 1985 there was a big change in how surgically removed body parts were handled. Surgeons used to be able to return certain body parts to the patient, like gallstones, tonsils, occasionally an appendix. With knowledge and better safety standards, body parts/fluids are sent to pathology and not returned to patients. Okay to ask your surgeon to photograph the tonsils for you. Be well.
