A member asked:

Would an ekg, blood test, chest x-ray, and echocardiogram diagnose a blood clot in the lung?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe: If the blood test was a "d-dimer" and there were certain specific findings on your x-ray, maybe. The definitive test for a pulmonary embolus (blood clot in lung) is a ct angiogram. However, if you had a negative d-dimer, that makes it extremely unlikely that you have a pe.
