Abscess?: What you are describing could be symptoms of an abscess in your throat, either near your tonsils or in the back of your throat. If you have a fever with this, then you need to see your doc right away. This could also just be a case of strep throat or a similar sore throat, which also needs to be checked out. Go see your doc.

Lump in throat: The cause can be in the throat structures (inflamation or growth) or extrinsic (outside the thoat but pressing on it) if the throat has been examined and larygescope indicates that the throat itself is normal, cervical spine x rays may show spurs on the vertebrae pressing on the throat.

Many things: This could be many things including infection, dryness, post-nasal drip, allergy...If this is a persistent problem, you should see your physician for an examination. You might need imaging studies or direct visualization to figure out what could be causing this.
