A member asked:

I am 55 yrs. old, had a complete hysterectomy 7 yrs. ago, been experiencing burning around the vaginal opening. could this be vaginal atrophy?

Likely!: It definitely could be. The vagina is very sensitive to hormone levels. Without estrogen, it gets thin. This can burn or tear. There are a couple of options for this so see your gynecologist. Good luck!

Yes: That would be a likely diagnosis, especially if you are not using estrogen replacement. See your doctor for evaluation and treatment.
