A member asked:

What causes vaginal ph abnormalities?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Vaginal atorphy: The normal vaginal ph is 3.8 to 4.5. Bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, and atrophic vaginitis often cause a vaginal ph higher than 4.5. In post-menopausal women atrophy of the vaginal lining is the usual cause. See this site for more info. http://women.webmd.com/vaginal-wet-mount.
