Viral illness: Fever of 102.4 without other symptoms suggest viral illness, particularly enteroviral infection. Symptomatic treatments including increased fluid intake and Ibuprofen 6-8 hours should be suffice. Should he continue to run fever over 3 days or develops significant change in his well being, contact his primary care doctor.
