Hyperpigmentation: Any time you have skin infections or significant skin rashes, the pigment cells in the skin cells can be stimulated and have heightened activity, leaving darkening of the skin called hyperpigmentation. This can last for months after the infection has cleared, even with the infection cleared up and gone. Be patient.
