Vertigo: In general vertigo is caused by abnormality in the inner ear, the brain or nerves that connect the two. The ear / nerve is usually the culprit. Meniere's disease, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, and tumors of the nerve are often implicated. Best way to treat depends upon cause. This usually requires a visit to an expert for accurate diagnosis.
