Headache: If you have tried all over the counterpain medications, you might consider a magnesium supplement, then see your doctor. You might need a daily medication like topamax (topiramate) or Propranolol to keep the headaches away. You can also find out if your headaches are coming from tension, dehydration, lack of sleep/poor sleep, skipping meals, stress, sleep apnea/snoring, or chronic sinus problems.

It depends on type: This depends on what type of headache as there are many types of headaches. The most common thing that people use are over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen and tylenol (acetaminophen). However, if it is a migraine headache it may require prescription meds. If related to muscle tension a massage can help. Acupuncture, acupressure, homeopathy, chiropractic treatment, stress reduction and sleep can help too.

Depends on details: Most people have a headache at some time, such as from colds and flus, lack of sleep, too much driving, long hours on the computer, stress at work, etc... Several over-the-counter options include Tylenol (acetaminophen), Motrin, Aleve, Excedrin Migraine, and their generic brands. A bad or increasing headache, recurrent or weird headache, or one with other worrisome symptoms must be examined.
