Not wt loss surgery: Liposuction is not always painful and that is a good thing. Liposuction is not intended to be weight loss surgery. It is normal to have marked swelling for days to weeks that may obscure the visualization of the final results.

Too Early.: Liposuction surgery generally is well tolerated with minimal discomfort experienced by most patients. Of course, depending on the specific situation, this can vary. I ask my patients to be patient during the healing process; it takes weeks and even up to several months to see the final results of the procedure performed. Factors such as swelling and need for skin contraction come into play.

Normal recovery.: Yes, liposuction is not a very painful procedure. Some people do not require painkillers, this depends on the area, the volume and the pain tolerance of the patient. Swelling from liposuction or surgery is significant, to the point where the days following surgery it may appear as nothing was removed. It takes 3-6 months for all the swelling to resolve after liposuction.

Quick recovery: Most people will return to light activity and work within a couple of days, and some feel sore like they had a good workout. Some have very little discomfort. It takes several weeks for the sweliing to resolve, os it is too early to see your final results. http://www.dassmd.com/liposuction/index.html.
