Alternatives: The aap recs bf or formula for the first year yet often the kid whose growing well can go to regular bovine milk at this age. Often bf mom's have pbs with offering anything because baby can smell u & wants the real stuff.Before abandoning formula u might have dad or other helper offer the feed when babe should be hungry & see if that works. If milk, use reg not skim or low fat until 2yo.

If you introduce a : Two-handled, open-mouthed cup now, holding it for her, she can wean to the cup at a year. That way you avoid the risk of dental cavities & iron deficiency from her walking around sipping on milk, juice or other sugar-containing liquid. At a year she can have whole milk & milk products 16-21 oz./day. Juice isn't necessary; 4-6 oz./day max, from a cup. Visit to a pediatric dentist is at a 1 year.
