Premature beats?: Palpitations are common with mvp. How severe is mvp? Physical or emotional stress and dehydration can worsen palpitations.

MVP: Mitral valve prolapse may worsen over time without a specific cause. If your symptoms are related to progressive leakage of the mitral valve, medication or even surgical repair could be needed. You should be evaluated by echocardiogram if you have not had one recently.
