It shouldn't.: Poison ivy is an allergic contact dermatitis that affects the skin. The skin is affected only at the place where it is in contact with the plant's resin or urushiol oil that is found in its leaves, stems or roots. Physical activity would not spread the already affected area nor makes it more severe.
