Call your MD: It is very common that hypertension (HTN) requires more than one medication for adequate control. Several studies have demonstrated better response to combination medications. You likely require addition of a diuretic or a calcium channel blocker to get the BP down. You should see your doctor as soon as possible to get proper treatment.

Your DR may consider: Adding a second pill to control it. And he should check other causes of elevated BP like kidney problems- narrowing of renal artery, cysts; problems with the thyroid, aorta or adrenal gland etc. Help yourself by attaining ideal body weight, cutting down on salt intake etc. http://www.webmd.com/hypertension-high-blood-pressure/natural-7/default.htm.
