Different rashes: There are two broad categories of diaper rash - infections and irritative. The infections can include yeast or bacterial. Irritation rashes are usually due to urine or stool contents irritating the skin. It's hard to tell without looking at the rash which it is, and the treatment varies greatly depending on what the cause is. If this keeps coming and going, its time for your pediatrician to peek!

Diaper rash: You will need to press on with potty training. She can do it. Until then, diaper rash may still be an issue. The area needs to be kept clean and dry. Desytin or bag balm as a barrier cream should be used. In early stages, hydrocortisione cream can be used. If left untreated for a while, yeast infection can superimpose and anti-fungal treatment should be pursued but keep in touch with your doc.

Keep dry: Keep the area as dry as possible by changing the diaper more often and applying of powder. Once the rash has taken hold, then an anti-fungal cream would be the next step.
