Due to infection: I am concerned that penicillin is not the best choice to treat this infection, and house cats due harbor lots of infections (dogs have far safer saliva, in general). Would contact your doctor, and maybe see infectious disease specialist. Do not delay, as you may be developing a cellulitis, and may require incision and drainage.
