A few days ago my thumb and back of my left hand felt numb. when i make a fist it feels almost like that area is covered in a thicker skin than the rest of my hand. today brown wirey barbs appeared when i rubbed it. any idea what this could be?

Unusual: This is a rather unusual reaction unless there was a previous skin lesion from an insect bite, fungus patch or another type of patchy skin disorder. A dermatologist is best to evaluate you for any unusual skin lesion. If thumb or hand numbness persist a pinched nerve is a possible cause and a neurologist could be consulted for evaluation.

Episodes of redness, burning sensation, numbness and vein swelling in my feet, ankles, and sometimes hands at night or when standing. The skin itself is not cracked or dry. Socks, shoes and hot shower makes worse. Elevating feet helps. Any ideas?
