Yes: It's normal to have some irregularity to your cycle. It's unclear to me exactly how you describe your period, but it's normal to have period start, then stop for 24-48 hours and then start up again. It's normal to have bright red, medium red, and dark red and even brown blood associated with a menstrual cycle. I hope that helps.
