Is it usual to still have pain 4 days after a lower right wisdom tooth removal. i am on antibiotics and i am trying to ease off painkillers.

No: Depends on the difficulty of the extraction. Sometimes the pain does not kick in until 4-5 days after the procedure which is why you should maintain a regular schedule with your antibiotics and pain medications. If you wait until it hurts then pain medications do not work well.

Perhaps but...: You should check in with your own dentist who did the extraction. He\she would know best regarding the difficulty of the extraction, the specific antibiotic and pain medication you are on, your pain threshold as well as what is to be expected at this point. It's also possible the infection is not under control or you have a dry socket. Call your dentist.

When I open my mouth to yarn or eat the jaw pains at the corner near ear lobes. I have tried painkiller and antibiotics like amoxicillin but the pain still remains. I brush twice and my teeth is healthy. I used to smoke but I have quit smoking .
Can post-wisdom tooth.extraction discomfort be managed w/ OTC painkillers (Advil or Tylenol) instead of Rx meds? If so, what is a good starting dose?
Second and third day after wisdom tooth removal , I still have so much pain and my temperature is around 37.7. My doctor wants to wait until she gives antibiotic but Im afraid that I might need to start ASAP. What do you think?
