No: Depends on the difficulty of the extraction. Sometimes the pain does not kick in until 4-5 days after the procedure which is why you should maintain a regular schedule with your antibiotics and pain medications. If you wait until it hurts then pain medications do not work well.

Perhaps but...: You should check in with your own dentist who did the extraction. He\she would know best regarding the difficulty of the extraction, the specific antibiotic and pain medication you are on, your pain threshold as well as what is to be expected at this point. It's also possible the infection is not under control or you have a dry socket. Call your dentist.
