Menses irregular: There are several possibilities. Brown discharge is usually old blood discharged from the uterus and if you were 20 would suggest you ignore it absent other symptoms. At 47, however, it would be a good idea to go to your gynecologist and be examined to be certain nothing more serious is going on, and if so, catch it in the bud. Best wishes.
