Yes, sorry to say: Cold sore virus is now in your "system" and when your resistance is down or you're stressed, the cold sores may appear.

Most likely yes: Manny people have the virus but some people have no symptoms. Others get sores near the area where the virus has entered the body. They turn into blisters, become itchy and painful, and then heal. It's reoccurrence strictly has to do with your immune system. When your immune system is weak ( like when you had the flu) they tend to show up.
