Lots: The hepatic function tests measure how much protein is in your blood- 1 of the most important proteins, albumin, is made by the liver. These tests also measure levels of different substances made in the liver. The specific values for these substances can indicate damage to liver cells, like in cirrhosis, or blockages in liver drainage, such as with gall stones.
