Unlikely: Few scholarly studies done about hormone-containing contraceptives & nf. The most well-designed one in 2006 showed no significant increase in the size/number of nfs during the use of estrogen-only, or combination estrogen-progesterone pills. There was a slight increase in women using progesterone-only agents, particularly depo-provera. Not all women experienced this. Camrese is a combo pill.

Wiser to avoid: Research has shown that neurofibromas do have hormone receptors on them and may have growth changes related to hormone exposure. Neurofibromas may first appear and/or grow during pregnancy due to the hormonal changes. Most stimulation is from progesterone. Not much research on birth control implants. Wiser decision is to use other birth control methods rather than hormone.
