Probably okay: I don't know of any contraindications to high protein, low carb diet in nf type 1 or 2. However, still trust the advice of your neurologist, and of course be sure you don't have any other health conditions that could contraindicate this diet (liver disease, e.g.). Probably not: Things like certain foods, smoking, caffeine, and heat do not stimulate their growth. Some people with nf1 have issues with bone mineralization and vitamin d deficiency.Food restrictions may occur because of other health issues with liver, pancreas, etc.
