Yes: This is complicated. An early pregnancy will have a cyst called the corpus luteum cyst that maintains the early pregnancy. Therefore the cyst is usually not the pregnancy. However, you can get a pregnancy on the ovary or tube, called an ectopic pregnancy and that can be confused for a cyst. Furthermore, certain ovarian tumors can produce pregnancy hormones and be confused for a pregnancy. See ob.

Miscarriage: The presentation is more suggestive of miscarriage rather than cyst. Cysts won't cause your pregnancy test to be positive. They may coincide with the pregnancy and may persist even when miscarriage is in place. Occasionally, ectopic pregnancy is mistaken for cysts such as ectopic pregnancy in the ovary.
