Yes: But it has everything to do with the diabetes and not the leg infection itself. With infections in diabetes, we tend to see other complications as well. Sometimes complications arise from poor diabetes (blood sugar) control. Diabetics are at higher risk for cardiovascular events than non diabetics. There is hope! taking medications, watching your diet, getting regular exercise, and pcp visits help.
