Hiccups: Alcohol, specially hard liqueur it is an irritating agent.It irritates your stomach, esophagus. The nerves that makes you hiccup are very close to the esophagus, so irritating the esophagus irritates these nerves which make your diaphragm muscle contract causing a hiccup.
