A member asked:

Could there be a 1% chance of misdiagnosis of my schizophrenia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Chance: There is always a chance of misdiagnosis. With schizophrenia there is not a blood test we can do to determine that you positively have it. The diagnosis is made by the symptoms you are having. In some cases illegal drug use and medical issues can also cause psychotic symptoms. If you have concerns, discuss them with your doctor or even your family.
