A member asked:

Help please! is anyone out there being treated for bipolar and adult add/adhd?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Common association: There are, in fact, many people that suffer from both disorders. We call it "co-morbidity." this association of symptoms is quite common. The treatment consists in treating first the mood fluctuations and depression and then treat the add with behavior reprogramming plus or minus stimulants or strattera (atomoxetine). The prognosis tends to be good and depends in general by how severe the bipolar part is.
