No best treatment: There are many ways to treat anxiety including psychotherapy, ssri's, buspirone, benzodiazepines, etc. Sometimes you may have underlying medical problems causing anxiety, which need to be addressed. There is no one best treatment for anxiety that works for everyone. Each patient is unique. One size doesn't fit all.

It varies: A number of medications exist to treat anxiety. Some are meant to be taken on an as needed basis and others need to be taken daily.The problem can also be treated with counciling. Sometimes combination treatment is best. The bottom line is that therapy should be individualized to meet a patients specific needs.Talk to a doctor to see what is best for you.

Anxiety: There is no "best" treatment for anxiety as there are many different types of anxiety including panic, social anxiety, worry, ocd, ptsd etc. Psychotherapy is an extremely important modality of care for anxiety, often this involves cognitive behavioral techniques, however this can also vary based on the diagnosis. Antidepressants, especially ssris and snris are frequently prescribed initially.
