Not sure?: Hard to say without more information. How hard did you hit your hand? Did it swell right away? If you hit your hand hard, you need to be seen to check for a fracture. Minor bumps from contusions can cause some swelling and these should get better with time. Ice may help initially, but heat may help after a few days. Get it checked out if they persist.
