Can you, by looking at bruises, say how they are caused if unexplained ?

Not simple to do: Most medical professionals are not trained to identify the cause of bruising from injury. Some bruises are caused by medical problems, such as clotting problems. If there is no history of even minor trauma, your doctor may be able to tell if there is a medical reason for the bruise.
