Because: Being farsighted does not mean you got see well in the distance, it means that your distance vision, without glasses or contacts, is better than your close vision. Many people who are farsighted are blurred in the distance but they are very very blurred for close objects.

Hyperopia: Some one who is farsighted is able to see things that are distance but had trouble clearly seeing things that are close.
