A member asked:

Can you please tell me why it'sdangerous to combine alcohol with barbiturate or with similar drugs?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Additive risks: Both alcohol and barbiturates are sedatives, and can cause drowsiness, dizziness, and incoordination and imbalance. Of course, any of the above can contribute to a significant injury. Another simple issue involves the risk of respiratory depression, with potential of death from sufficient amounts of these items. Would not combine these items at any time.
