Not normal: That's not a normal occurrence after a facelift. She needs to go back to her surgeon. There is no way to speculate as to what that may be without seeing her.

Difficult 2 specul8: It's difficult to speculate as to the cause of your mother's discomfort. Typically results loosen with time instead of tightening as you have described. However, in some instances, surgeon do you permanent materials that may feel tighter if a patient gains weight. This is more common in the abdomen but some permanent sutures have been used in the neck. If this is the case, it can be released by md.
