Tragus piercing: The tragus is the small cartilage of your outer ear, just in front of the opening of the ear canal. Much like the earlobe, this area is not that sensitive to pain, but it is slightly more sensitive than the ear lobe. The ear canal, on the other hand, is very sensitive to pain. I would caution against piercing this area as it puts the cartilage at risk for infection, called chonditis.
