Until and if....: There is no special timeline. It depends upon the extent of the periodontal disease, the necessary treatment, your cooperation with plaque control and your body's recuperative powers. Discuss the treatment plan, prognosis, and expected timeline with your own dentist who knows you and your specific situation best.

No real timeline..: When your treating dentist feels that the disease process has been arrested, and that your home care is adequate, that will be the time to consider the implants. Since everyone heals differently, its hard to say when it will be your time. No use placing implants that can easily fail next to periodontally involved teeth.

Once perio is stable: Once your dentist has treated your perio disease and deems your particular situation as stable, your implant therapy can begin. As you were not specific as to the severity of your perio disease, a specific timeline is difficult. I'm sure this is a question your treating dentist would be happy to answer. Go for it!
