A member asked:

Do there exist procedures where a surgeon actually removes or kills the vein associated with an external hemorrhoid?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: External hemorrhoids rarely need surgery except when thrombosis of the hemorrhoid happens. The treatment is excision, if you have many the surgeon could consider excision more an cosmetic indication than medical indication.
