I just had strabimus surgery i am able to open my eyes but it stings and feels as if there is something in my eyes. will it go away? what's happening?

Should get better: The eyes may get dry and irritated at the time of surgery, and you may be feeling that. Also, small openings are made in the membrane over the white of the eye during surgery to correct the muscles, and there may be sutures involved which can also be irritating. All of this is temporary. If you were given a lubricating eye ointment, this can help. Call the operating surgeon if you are not sure.
