Disassociation: Loss of memory of trauma is common in ptsd. It's a good defense mechanism. For survival. Part of your treatment may involve reliving the trauma but only after adequate mastery over your emotions under relaxation. No one forgets everything. Often it's the most critical part that's forgotten according to dsm-iv. Best wishes.
