Possibly, : Disk herniations and cord flattening on a MRI don't nessesarily mean they are the cause of your symptoms. A MRI is only a picture of anatomy. It does not define causation. That bieng said disk herniations can be significant pain generators.Cord flattening without any abnormal signal or neurologic signs may not be immediately relevant. Your dr. Can correlate the imaging with a physical exam.
