Pediatrician: There is no single test for pica. But pica can occur in people who have lower-than-normal nutrient levels and poor nutrition so they may test blood levels of iron and zinc. Blood tests can also be done to test for anemia. Lead levels should always be checked in children who may have eaten paint.

Labs: A good child psychiatrist or behavioral pediatrician- most often pica is associated with vitamin deficiencies iron . There are however likely significant behavioral components-may be a mini gestation of a sensory processing disorder which should be very treatable.
