SAM-e: Elimination half-life of sam-e is about 1.7 hours, so it's gone from your system in about 10 hours. 10 days of a given dose is not long enough of a trial to know if it will help you, and the 400mg dose is only a starting one. A therapeutic dose may be between 800mg-1600mg/day, in divided doses. You've not had a full trial in either time or dosage with sam-e, but Prozac (fluoxetine) is fine if prescribed.

Depression: You need to consult with your doctor as i have seen negative effects of going between sam-e and prozac (fluoxetine). Sam-e is difficult to assess as to its quality as it is not regulated. Be honest with your doctor as to your dose so you can make the adjustment with the least consequences. Best wishes.
