My 4 yr old daughter has a chesty cough which has lingered for about 3 weeks. is our air extractor to blame? does it take too much moisture away?

Dont blame that: I am no pediatrician, but with those symptoms for that length of time i personally would investigate with a sinus and chest x-ray and a sputum/nasal culture. Some "bugs" which need antibiotic treatment can hang around without severe symptoms for a long time, especially in children and especialy if in daycare.
