A little: As a cataract matures, frequently it gets thicker which makes the vision more nearsighted (myopic). Glasses can help this but as the thickness increases, the transmission decreases and acuity gradually drops. At some point, the lack of clarity dominates and the glasses cannot compensate with surgery being the only option.
